Since 1874, our construction company has stood for excellent quality, outstanding reliability and unbridled passion in the field of building construction and civil engineering.

1874

The Frankfurt architect Wilhelm Schmidt-Diehler founds his first building materials business in Frankfurt and quickly expands it into a construction business.

1895

Adam Krämer takes over the management of the company. He not only wins important and influential contracts, but also puts his outstanding expertise as a building surveyor at the service of the courts. During the war, he provides valuable services to the state as an expert for the assessment and compensation of restoration costs for war damage. He is awarded a Cross of Merit for his services.

1912

Adam Krämer takes his son, the architect Ludwig Krämer, into the management of the Schmidt-Diehler construction company, which is already recognized in Frankfurt. After the turmoil of the First World War, they ensure the continued existence of the company with great commitment from all involved. With a great deal of commitment from the entire workforce, the company is able to survive, develop and grow.

1940

After the sudden death of Ludwig Krämer, Auguste Krämer, civil engineer Johann Heinz and Ruth Wagner take over the management. It is thanks to them that the company survives the Second World War, during which 30% of it is bombed out. They continue to run the company successfully for many years.

2011

Dipl.-Ing. Eckhart Wagner takes over the company as managing director and partner. The company grows continuously under his management. Turnover and number of employees increase.

Schmidt-Diehler focuses on three central points:

Use of innovative technology with investments in the procurement of modern machinery and equipment
Continuous further qualification of employees
Improvement of working conditions.

This corporate philosophy has ensured the company’s long-term success story to this day.

2019

Eckhart Wagner goes into retirement. Samir Muratovicwho has been working closely with Mr. Wagner on the management team since 2011, also successfully manages AS Bau GmbH, the construction company he founded in 2006, which employed over 100 people at the time. In 2019, he also took over the management of W. Schmidt-Diehler GmbH as a partner and managing director.

2021

The construction company buys a large site in Bad Soden am Taunus . Schmidt-Diehler ‘s headquartersarerelocated to the outskirts of Frankfurt.

The Schmidt-Diehler company is now the proud owner of around 32,000m² of land and 11,000m² of office space.

The new property includes office space, storage space, sufficient parking spaces and further optional areas for project development.
The storage space directly on site means that our logistics can function even faster and more efficiently.

The large office space offers a better indoor climate, more space for employees, additional technical options and a smooth flow of the entire infrastructure.
This investment has paved the way for the construction company’s continued success.

2024

At the beginning of the year, W. Schmidt-Diehler GmbH and AS Bau GmbH are merged into one company. The construction company founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1874 also celebrates its anniversary in 2024. 150th anniversary of the company. To mark the occasion, we have updated our corporate design and website.
