© Hamberger Großmarkt GmbH

The new construction of a wholesale store for food and catering supplies comprises a total gross floor area (GFA) of around 40,000 square meters. The structure of the wholesale market is approx. 141 meters long and approx. 73 meters wide and has a trapezoidal floor plan. The building essentially consists of a large market hall with fixtures and fittings and a partial upper floor.

The building is being constructed on an underground car park with 249 parking spaces. The construction of the basement, which includes the underground car park, is designed as a white tank made of reinforced concrete in exposed concrete quality SB3.

The load-bearing structure of the building consists of precast reinforced concrete elements, which are erected in in-situ concrete on the underground car park using the skeleton construction method. The rising storeys are made up of a mixture of different precast reinforced concrete elements, including reinforced concrete columns, solid precast walls, cavity walls, precast girders, TT ceilings and precast staircases. The non-load-bearing walls are made of sand-lime brickwork (KS bricks).

The façades of the building consist of precast concrete curtain walls, with the east façade dominated by a large glass façade. The glazed entrance façade on the east side is bent inwards at an oblique angle and is interrupted by a lower, solid structure.
