BV Therme am Park

Bad Nauheim

The new “Therme am Park” building in Bad Nauheim is a modern wellness and spa facility with a gross floor area (GFA) of around 10,500 square meters. The building consists of a higher hall structure and two lower, inserted building sections, which serve as a connection to the future Thermenhotel and Badehaus 2. It has two floors above ground and one below ground.

The bathing hall houses the indoor thermal pool, bubble pool, intensive brine pool, a steam bath and hot and cold pools.

A particular highlight is the wave-shaped façade in exposed concrete (quality SB3) and the roof hall, which consists of a combination of in-situ concrete, prefabricated elements and timber construction. The two-storey bathing hall has a square, structural grid that is visible on all facades and forms a columned hall. The glazed main façades and the cantilevered canopy give the building a temple-like appearance.

The building consists mainly of a reinforced concrete construction with exposed concrete requirement SB3. Stair flights and trusses were made from prefabricated parts, and high demands were placed on the water technology and electrical installation. A water-impermeable construction (WU) with composite foil was used under the floor slab and the walls.
